So the Bug went into my garage, ready for work. The plan is to have her on
the road for the summer of 2001. On 1st inspection the bug looks really good,
with only limited amounts of rust.
The life saver for my bug is the black, thick underseal that was applied in
1966. This is about 3mm thick and covers the whole underside of the car. Where
the underseal was missing there are holes, not that many......thankfully.

Nice and clean across the front, and a spare wheel...... |
The door bottoms need some attention |
The rain channels needed repairing. A days work on each side |
Gone on both sides.... never mind... |
Right hand wing off, you can clearly see the thick underseal
that has kept this bug alive. There is some damage at the front from a previous
accident in 67 |
Right hand rear and more underseal with an area that was
overlooked. That's were the whole is...... |
A close up of the front inner wing, amazing for a UK car, no
rust. |
The front of the heater channel, a small amount of rust,
nothing to worry about |
Again , only a small amount of rust, cut out..... to be
plated... |
A very clean boot area, just look at that Bahama Blue paint,
as good as new. |
Heater channel in tack |
Another view of the channel |
Inside the boot, very clean |
No tears here........ |
Rust on the bottom of the door pillar... looks like big work |
How clean is that then........see the chrome internal
light!! |
These nothing quite like a solid floor |
Is that a hole up there? What do you think? |
